How to Restore Corrupted Windows Within 10 Minutes?

How to Restore Corrupted Windows Within 10 Minutes?

I was frequently facing corrupted or “dirty” Windows problems every 1 or 2 months, and every re-installation takes me about 1 hour! Therefore, I decided to make a backup plan or something to speed up the process. Then I came across some hard disk imaging software, and indeed it helps a lot!

I plan my pre-installation and separate O.S. (Operating System) from my regular data, organize them into 2 logical drives, C: the O.S. Drive and D: the data drive. I use drive imaging software to backup my O.S. drive into d: the data drive, and I tried to backup entire O.S. drive every time I need to install some software or do a major tweak to my Windows.

If anything will go wrong, I just re-install my Windows in 10 minutes. There are 2 software around that meets this criterion very well:

1. Paragon Drive Backup (Inexpensive solution, I am using it!)
2. Acronis TrueImage (Although my favorite, but a bit pricey.)

I know since Windows backup restore, but sorry to inform you that this is not guaranteed to recover your O.S. completely, it just saved your registry and some Windows settings, if you ever did caught into trouble, restore point will help you recover some settings but not totally. So restore point is useless to me and constantly taking my Windows valuable resources!

What Windows did is constantly monitoring for any settings changes, and save duplicates of files and data into the reserve area, this not just delay my Windows but also creates waste on my hard disk because ineffective to recover !

Disk imaging software is like taking a snapshot on the hard drive, every setting and programs are saved, you can be absolutely sure everything will be restored to the time you backup!

In Windows Vista, I would recommend you to move your documents to a totally separate drive, let’s say E: for example. You would store your normal email and other database data on D, so every time a restore needed, you won’t have to manually backup them and restore again. When you store your documents on E, keep restore point service on and allow Vista to create multiple versions of your documents (New features in Vista) every time you save the documents.

Configuration in this way will ensure your email and database access with no delay, but allow versioning on your precious documents, and at the same time speed up your C: drive O.S. You can restore your O.S. in 10 minutes without the needs to perform a manual backup on your documents, data and emails.

How to bypass WPA (Windows Activation) on Windows XP

How to bypass WPA (Windows Activation) on Windows XP

Tested on Windows XP Professional SP2 and Windows Server 2003 R2.

First, click “Run…” on your start menu, type “regedit” and press enter.
The Registry Editor opens up, and you are presented with a long list of keys on the left.
Browse through the list to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents.

(If you can’t find this key, you’re screwed!)

On the right, you should see a stringz value named OOBETimer.

This is the activation stuff. If you change it, Windows will change it back within a few seconds.

Whatever its value is, change it to FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F D5 33 93 FD.
(At first I thought this was different for each machine/serial number, but it’s always the same if windows is activated…LOL)

After you’ve changed it, right-click WPAEvents and choose “Permissions…”

A little window opens up with a list of user names. Click SYSTEM, and in the list below (”Permissions for SYSTEM”) check every box under “Deny”. Click OK to own windows. You don’t even have to reboot.

If you’re too slow windows might change it back, so just hit F5 to refresh and make sure it got saved.

If not, just try again. Microsoft owns for making it so easy to hack their software.

So, just keep on enjoying an activated version of windows. swapnil_009 over and out!

The problem most of you are probably having is when you get to the “Permissions” section, so i expand on this tricky area.

Under “Permissions…” for WPAEvents, Go into the Advanced settings.

UNCHECK “Inhereit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here”

When prompted what course of action to take from here, click “COPY”

From there, Highlight the SYSTEM line, and click edit.

Deny all options, apply, and run a free copy of windows.

Save Windows Activation Files Before Reinstall

Like any windows machine at some point you’ll need to format your hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. If you didn’t prepare for that you’ll need to reactivate your Windows XP.

Now if you do not want all the hassle of reactivation you can save your old activation files and use them in your clean system (as long as you didn’t make any hardware changes).

Follow these steps.

Backup your activation files:

1. Open Windows explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32

2. Copy the files Wpa.dbl and Wpa.bak to another media floppy, CD-R or another hard drive (if you have more than one installed)

Now you can reformat your drive and reinstall Windows XP.

At the end of the installation, when Windows asks you to activate your product, decline and do not activate.

Restore your activation files

1. Restart your system, and as your system boots up press F8 to access the boot options (Windows Advanced Options)
2. From the menu options select to start Windows in safe mode (minimal)
3. After Windows loads in safe mode, open Windows explorer and navigate back to C:\Windows\System32
4. If you find the files Wpa.dbl and Wpa.bak in this folder, rename the files to something like Wpa.dbl.backup and Wps.bak.backup

How to run multiple Yahoo Messenger

How to run multiple Yahoo Messenger program from your computer? All you have to do is a little tweak at your Windows Registry System (Regedit), see the following steps :

* Start >> Run…>> regedit
* Access to HKEY_CURRENT_USER >> Software >> yahoo >> pager >> test
* On the right side, right click >> New >> DWORD value
* Fill the name with “Plural” and then press enter twice fill the value with “1″ (without quote)

If after you do all steps above and it’s still not work, try to logout from your current Yahoo Messenger and Exit, then try to run it again. If still not works, restart Windows or check your Windows registry, is that locked by your computer administrator? (Maybe for some security reason).

This Tips is also works with Yahoo Messenger Ver. 8.0.xxx,
Hope it can help You all..
